Visitor Centre
Opened in 2007 the Visitor Centre at Castlecomer Discovery Park stands on the site of a former grass drying building which was located in the estate yard. The new building is a unique and visually pleasing structure which blends perfectly with the traditional stonebuildings of The Estate Yard. The building is fully wheelchair accessible and houses our reception area, toilets, Jarrow cafe, Footprints in Coal exhibition and a wide range of exhibitions throughout the year. The Visitor Centre is the meeting and registration point for all our activities at the park.

Coal-Mining Museum
45 minute audio-visual exhibition charting the geological formation of coal, significant fossils finds and crucially the social history and heritage of coal-mining in the Castlecomer region. Scroll down for more background information on the exhibition’s content. Open daily, last entry 4pm.
Cost: Adult €7; Child €5; Student/OAP €6; Family 2+2 €20; Family 2+3 €22; Group & School discounts available.

Duckett’s Grove vintage and Classic vehicles show May 14th 2017
Hello fellow members, friends and enthusiasts,
The Carlow Vintage and Classic Motor Club is hosting its first event of
2017 in the beautiful grounds of Duckett’s Grove, Carlow and we would
like to invite you all to join us. Last year was an unbelievable event
with over 400 cars in attendance. The date is Sunday the 14th of May and
gates open around 10 am. All types of classic vehicles are welcome and
entry is free for everybody.
There will be arts and crafts stalls, music, food, kids play area and of
course, access to the gardens and grounds of this mystical site.
Ducketts Grove is disabled friendly but please be aware that the site is
mostly grass.
If you are a club and wish to come along as a group, we can accommodate
you together on the day once we have confirmed numbers so please get in
touch via this email address about a week before to let us know how many
will be going. Spaces together cannot be guaranteed on the day.
Overnight accommodation is not allowed on site but there are camp sites,
B&B and hotels in the local area. I can supply you with contacts if you
require.

Directions:
From Dublin/Waterford take exit 4 on M9 motorway. Follow signs for
Castledermot then take the R418 Castledermot/Tullow road for 6km and
turn right at the signed junction. From Carlow take the R726 Hacketstown
Road for 10 km to Killerig Cross Roads. Turn left at this junction onto
the R418 for 2.5 km, turn left again at the signed junction.

CVCMC are delighted to announce our forthcomming event in Duckett’s Grove this may the 14th.
2016 was an incredible event with over 400 vehicles on display, and the day turned out to be probably CVCMC’s most successful event to ever.

Visitors on the day were treated to spectacular scenery, great food, live music and of course, an amazing array of classic and vintage vehicles that travelled from as far as Belfast, Galway and Kerry to be with us.
Sincere thanks to all the individuals, and clubs who brought their treasures.

So don’t forget to put the 14th in your diary and join us on the day.
